What details do we collect?

When you fill in a quote form, message us or upload artwork, we receive what you type or attach. Nothing is taken from you that you did not send us yourself, apart from the basic site statistics described further down.

• Your name and email address, so we know who to reply to.
• A phone or WhatsApp number, if you choose to give one.
• Sizes, bar weights, board choice, finishes and quantities for your job.
• The address we should deliver to.
• Artwork files, logos and any notes you add.

We do not ask for card details. No payments are taken on this site, so there is nothing to enter on our pages.

Why do we use your details?

We use them for one job: quoting and making your order. Your sizes tell us how to cut a box to your bar. Your email is where the quote arrives within one working day and where the free design proof lands before anything is printed.

Your phone number is for a quick call or message if a measurement looks off, such as a loaf-cut bar that has shrunk slightly while curing. Your address lets us arrange tracked UK mainland delivery, and your messages help us deal with any misprint or damage you report within 10 days.

We do not sell your details. We also do not add you to mailing lists you never asked to join.

Who sees your information?

Our own team sees what you send, because they quote, proof and print the job. Our email provider also handles it, since quotes and proofs travel by email and the messages sit in that mailbox.

Delivery details go only as far as needed to get the parcel to you. Your artwork is used to print your order and nothing else. We will not show your design to other makers or use it to promote ourselves without asking you first.

How long do we keep it, and what about cookies?

We keep quote requests, proofs and artwork for as long as we need them to make the order, answer questions and handle a reprint or refund. After that we delete or anonymise what we no longer need. If you want a file removed sooner, ask and we will do it.

After launch we may use analytics cookies to see which pages are visited and how the site is used, for example whether people find the size guide. These give us site statistics, not a picture of you as a person. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works.

What are your rights?

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, ask us to delete them, object to how we use them, or ask for a copy you can pass to someone else. We deal with these requests by email.

Write to info@thesoapboxes.co.uk with the name and email address you used on the form, and we will find your record. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the UK data protection regulator. For anything else, visit our contact page for questions.
