Design Your Soap Box
Drop your logo on a real photo of our soap sleeves, move it and size it, and send it. A designer sets it up to your bar size and sends a free proof.

Your logo sits on a real photo of our packaging. A designer redraws it to scale on your box and sends a free proof before anything is printed.
What is a soap sleeve?
A soap sleeve is a printed strip of card that slides over the middle of a bar and leaves both ends bare. There is no lid, no tuck flap and no base to fold, so the soap stays easy to see and easy to pick up.
The card is cut to the girth of your bar, with the join tucked on the back. That gives you a front face for your name and scent, a back for ingredients and two slim edges for a colour band or a small mark.
If you are still choosing a format, read sleeve against box and wrap before you order.
Why makers pick a sleeve over a box
A sleeve costs less to make than a lidded box and takes seconds to fit at the bench. Cut the loaf, bevel the edges, let the bars cure, then slide each one in. No folding, no taping, no glue.
Wedding favour makers like the same speed when a tray of small bars needs dressing the night before.
- Open ends let a cured bar keep breathing while it waits to sell.
- The bar stays on show, so buyers can see the swirl or the colour.
- Customers can smell the scent through the open ends.
- A slim sleeve adds almost nothing to shelf space or parcel size.
- Hand-wrapped bars look the same every time, with no folds to get wrong.
Will a sleeve fit my bar?
Sleeves are made to the bar, not picked from a fixed list. Send the length, width and height in mm and we allow about 2 mm in total, which is 1 mm a side, for a snug slide-on fit.
Bars shrink a little as they cure, so measure after curing, not on cutting day. If you are unsure, note the size before and after drying.
| Bar size (mm) | About | Usual use |
|---|---|---|
| 90 x 60 x 25 | 100 g | Standard market bar |
| 75 x 50 x 25 | 60 g | Hotel guest bar |
| 100 x 65 x 30 | 150 g | Generous gift bar |
| 70 x 50 x 20 | 50 g | Sample or favour bar |
| 85 x 60 x 30 | 110 g | Chunky cold process bar |

Kraft card or white card?
Kraft card is a warm brown with a slightly rough surface. It suits cold process bars and gives a market stall the hand-made look customers expect. White card is a clean base for bright colour, fine type and pale scent names.
Light inks sink into kraft, so a white ink panel is worth adding if your logo is pale. Dark, bold artwork can go straight onto the card. Our notes on printing your logo on kraft show what to expect.
Not sure? Tell us the soap colours and we will suggest which card flatters them.
Print choices and finishes
Print in full colour, in one or two ink colours, or add a white ink panel on kraft. One ink colour is a favourite with small batch makers: it keeps the look simple, and a clear name reads well from across a table.
Finishes are added on the quote. Choose from matt, gloss, soft-touch, foil, spot varnish and embossing. Soft-touch feels good in the hand, foil catches the light on a gift shop shelf, and embossing gives a raised name that buyers run a thumb over.
A sleeve has two long faces and two slim edges, so think about where the eye lands first. Put the scent name where a customer's hand will not cover it.
How does ordering work?
Ordering runs by email or WhatsApp. Prices start from £0.25 a sleeve, and each job is quoted to its size and quantity, with low minimums decided job by job.
- Send your bar size in mm, the card you want and roughly how many sleeves you need.
- We reply with a quote by email within one working day.
- Send your logo and wording, or ask us to set the artwork up. A free design proof comes before anything is printed.
- Approve the proof or ask for changes.
- Printing takes 4 to 6 working days after proof approval.
- Your sleeves arrive by free tracked UK mainland delivery in 2 to 3 working days.
What about bars that are still curing?
A bar that is still sweating can leave a mark on card, so let bars cure fully before sleeving them. Fragrance oils can bleed into kraft as well, and strong scents are the usual cause.
Open ends give a cured bar some air, but card is no shield against damp, so keep sleeved bars somewhere dry. If you want the soap shown through the sleeve, a clear window patch keeps fingers off the bar; see window patches and moisture for how to use one.
Soda ash on a cold process top is worth planing or wiping off before wrapping, as loose dust can rub onto the card.
What goes on the sleeve besides your logo?
Before you send artwork, remember that a UK-sold bar normally needs its product name, weight, ingredients and the maker's details printed somewhere, and that cosmetic rules sit behind all four. Check the current UK cosmetics rules before you send artwork.
The back of a sleeve has room for a full ingredients list, with the weight near the front. If you would rather keep the sleeve clean, add a small paper label for the back instead.
Batch numbers can go on a label too, which saves reprinting sleeves when a recipe changes.
Posting sleeved bars
A sleeve is a wrapper, not a shipping carton. With nothing round it, the corners of a bar can scuff in transit and the card edges can crease.
Pack sleeved bars snugly in an outer box, with paper or card filling the gaps so nothing slides. Keep strongly scented bars away from plain ones. Our steps for packing soap for posting cover the rest.
Sending parcels daily from a kitchen table? Order a few extra sleeves, because swapping one scuffed sleeve is easier than answering a complaint.
When is a box the better choice?
Pick a sleeve when you want the bar on show and the cost low. If a bar needs full cover, such as a strongly scented one, or you are stacking bars into a gift set, a tuck end soap box does more.
Hotels and guest houses ordering 60 g guest soaps often like sleeves because the small bar stays visible on the basin.

All sleeves and wrapsSoap Sleeves questions
More answers in Help, or call +44 7578 382054 or message us on WhatsApp.
Do soap sleeves cover the whole bar?
No. A sleeve wraps the middle and leaves the two ends open, so a little soap shows at each end. If you want full cover, a box is the better format.
Can I order sleeves to match my mould?
Yes. Give us the bar length, width and height in mm after curing, and the sleeve is cut to that size.
How tight should a sleeve be?
Snug, not gripping. The allowance is about 2 mm in total, 1 mm a side, so it slides on without scraping and does not drop off.
Will a sleeve fit round bars or shampoo bars?
Sleeves suit flat-sided bars best. Round bars, about 65 mm across, usually sit better in a band or a box such as our shampoo bar boxes. Ask and we will say honestly.
Which card can I choose?
Kraft card or white card. Kraft gives a natural, brown look, and white card shows bright colour cleanly.
Can I print a white logo on kraft?
Yes. A white ink panel on kraft lets a pale logo stand out against the brown.
Can I add foil or embossing?
Yes. Foil, embossing, matt, gloss, soft-touch and spot varnish are all added on the quote.
How many sleeves do I have to order?
Minimums are low and set per job. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we will quote it by email.
Will a sleeve mark if my bars are still soft?
It can. Card may mark if a bar is still sweating, so let bars cure before sleeving them.
How long until my sleeves arrive?
Printing takes 4 to 6 working days after proof approval. Free tracked UK mainland delivery then takes 2 to 3 working days.
Do I see the design before it is printed?
Yes. You get a free design proof first, and nothing goes to print until you approve it.
What if my sleeves arrive misprinted or damaged?
Tell us within 10 days. Misprinted or damaged sleeves reported in that time are reprinted or refunded.
